Dohuk Dam

The dam was completed in 1988 with the primary purpose of providing water for irrigation. It is 60 m (197 ft) tall and can withhold 52,000,000 m3 (42,157 acre⋅ft) of water. The dam has a bell-mouth spillway with a maximum discharge of 81 m3/s (2,860 cu ft/s).

Gara mountain

Gara Mountain in the Northeast of Duhok city, the peak of Gara Mountain reaches 2,150 meters above sea level and overlooks the towns of Solav, Ashawa, Aneshki, and Bamerni. Saddam Hussein was Known to enjoy this area and built a pleasure palace on this mountain. Also is a popular tourist spot for families seeking to play in the dense snow or those interested in recent history, Tourists and local people keep visiting Gara Mountain as they want to be able to enjoy the view where you get to see the natural beauty of other mountains . Although many people enjoy their time on the mountain in the snow, a dark history looms as an abandoned palace remains at the top of the mountain. Saddam Hussein enjoyed the area so much, that he had a palace built at the top of Gara Mountain. Although much of it lies in ruins with little left of its former glory and there are said to be unexploded mines surrounding the palace as well.

Halamata Cave

Halamata Cave is an archaeological site near Duhok. The caves contain the Assyrian relief carvings known as the Maltai reliefs. The site is composed of four "Neo-Assyrian bas-reliefs" carved into the cliff-side above the village of Malthai. The reliefs are approximately six meters long, and two meters high. They all show a procession of nine figures, and were first photographed by British explorer Gertrude Bell in 1909.

Halamata Cave

Lalish Temple considered the main temple of the Ayzidi religion, which is known in Arabic sources as (Yazidis) .. Yezidis visit it from all over the world, and it is a unique spot where silence and calm , fresh air, greenery, trees and domes above the heights that extend on both sides of the holy valley,are distributed among them pictures and scenes talking and conveying to us various stories and each story has a historical and religious background related to the Yazidi religion.
