Maysan Province (Amarah)

Located in the East of Iraq on the Iranian border .Its capital is Al- Imara which is located on Tigris,it was believed that the origin name was Kingdom of Mishan and then turned to Maysan. Maysan consists of five districts “Ali Algarbi,Al-Maimona,Al- Majer ,Saleh Castle and Al-Kahla” ,in addition to nine townships (Ali Alsharqi ,Kumet ,Al-Moshrah,Al-Salam,Al-Khair,Al- Adel,Bni-Hashim,Al-Uzair and Said Ahmed Al-Rifai ) It is famous for its Gold and Silver industry and it is known of its marshes ,and its famous meal Al-Tabik ,the thick kind of bread made from rice flour .

It is located between Mysan and Al-Basra , Among which Basra province established a Nature reserve ,named (Al-Safia Nature Reserve),it is bounded by Iran from the east ,its length about 80km and width about 30km and its total area about 3000 km .

Ezra's Tomb or the Tomb of Ezra (Arabic: العزير, romanized: Al-ʻUzair, Al-ʻUzayr, Al-Azair) is a Shi'ite Muslim and Jewish shrine, located in Al-ʻUzair in the Qal'at Saleh district, in the Maysan Governorate of Iraq, on the western shore of the Tigris river, that is popularly believed to be the burial place of the biblical figure Ezra.
